Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law
Talk Arabic provides online Arabic-learning services. If you are a consumer, you always keep your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL). Nothing in this policy excludes, restricts or limits those rights.
Among other things, you are entitled to a remedy — which may include a refund — where a service:
- is not provided with due care and skill;
- does not match the description we gave for it; or
- is not reasonably fit for a purpose you told us about (or that we said it would achieve).
This policy sets out our goodwill approach and applies in addition to your ACL rights — it does not replace or reduce them.
Cancellations and refunds (goodwill)
For prepaid packages and individual sessions, we take a fair, reasonable, case-by-case approach:
- Prepaid packages. If you cancel before your package has started, we will refund the unused, prepaid portion. Once lessons have begun, we will work with you in good faith on the unused balance.
- Rescheduling. Let us know in reasonable time before a session and we will do our best to reschedule it at no extra cost.
- Missed sessions. Sessions missed without reasonable notice may be treated as delivered. Where a teacher misses or cancels a session, you can reschedule it or have it refunded.
Refunds are made in the same currency you paid (for example TRY or AUD) and to your original payment method where possible.
How to request a refund or cancellation
Email us at hello@talkarabic.co with your name and order details, and tell us what you would like to happen. We aim to respond within a reasonable time.
Governing law
This policy is governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. If you are outside Australia, you may also have rights under your local laws, and nothing here limits those rights.
